Konica Minolta Sensing Americas Announces Range 5 Non-Contact 3D Digitizer

Konica Minolta Sensing Americas, Inc., the worldwide leader in the industrial measurement of color, light and shape, announces the addition of the Range 5 non-contact 3D digitizer to its product offerings.

Modeled from the highly successful Range 7 digitizer, the Range 5 gives the performance expected from Konica Minolta Sensing at a very affordable price point.

“The Range 5 fills the need for a scanner at a price point between the Vivid 9i and Range 7 scanners”, said Jim Clark, 3D Business Unit Manager for Konica Minolta Sensing Americas. “Keeping almost all of the features of the Range 7 but at a very affordable price for our customers was the goal in the development of the Range 5,” added Jim. Scanning of dark or reflective surfaces with high accuracy and very little to no surface prep is what sets the Range 5 apart from other 3D scanners. The Range 5 is expected to begin shipping in July 2009.
