Simona AG, a German manufacturer of thermoplastic products, will highlight its SIMOWOOD bio-based large scale sheet at PlastIndia 2015.
SIMOWOOD is said to be the first large-scale sheet made of Resysta, a hybrid material based on rice husks and a specific type of thermoplastic.
Once processed, the extruded, weatherproof sheets look and feel like wood, according to the company. It is particularly useful for patio decking, wellness areas and wet rooms, outdoor furniture or shipbuilding.
SIMOLIFE, sheets for orthopaedic products made of polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG) and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), will also be on display.
PlastIndia 2015 will be held in Gandhinagar, India from February 5-10.
