Interplast Ltd, a plastic pipe producer in Ghana, has recently ordered two profile extrusion lines from KraussMaffei Berstorff for production of PVC wall and ceiling panels that are up to 100mm wide.

The core components of the systems, which will go into operation in September, are two conical twin-screw extruders of size KMD 63 K/P, says the machinery supplier.

“We are very proud that our products and technological know-how are finding increasing acceptance in the emerging countries on the African continent,” says Andreas Kessler, General Sales Manager at KraussMaffei Berstorff. “We will configure the system especially for Interplast to meet the market requirements in Africa.”

“With the profile production system from KraussMaffei Berstorff, we are confident that the possibility of technical difficulties can be avoided because we are dealing with a partner who supplies us with all relevant components from a single source,” explains Arthur Huberts, CEO of Interplast. “Furthermore, the price-performance ratio is just right.”

Interplast, founded in 1970 in Ghana, produces profiles for the local market and exports to more than 20 countries in Africa. Business relationship between Interplast and KraussMaffei Berstorff began in 2011 as the company ordered a corrugated pipe extrusion system, a profile extrusion line and a raw material pelletizing solution.
