With immediate effect, global chemical company BASF is increasing the sales prices for methylamines and key methylamine derivatives globally by 50 euros per metric ton or US$70 per metric ton.
The price increase shall apply to current supply agreements as soon and as far as allowed under their terms and conditions. Methylamine derivatives include the products dimethylaminopropylamine (DMAPA), dimethylformamide (DMF), dimethylethanolamine (DMEOA) and methyldiethanolamine (MDEOA).
Methylamines are versatile chemical intermediates with a wide range of applications, such as agrochemicals, water treatment, personal care and feed additives. Dimethylformamide is a versatile organic solvent for many applications. Dimethylethanolamine serves as a key raw material for water treatment chemicals. Methyldiethanolamines have proved effective in gas treatment systems.
