API SpA, an Italian supplier of thermoplastic elastomers, has reorganized its structure with focus on three market sectors. The company decided to focus on market applications rather than on the product. As a result, three new Business Units are set up: Footwear and Sporting Goods; Automotive and Technical Articles as well as Packaging e Medical. At the same time, a new Marketing figure has been created who will take over a strategic and cross-organizational role within the new company structure.
Sandro Gusi, Managing Director of API, explains the reasons behind the restructuring, “The truly innovative character of the change lies in having decided to apply this to a moderately structured yet medium/small sized company like API. A real and never ending process of cultural growth that presupposes a continual drive towards improvement both in our efficiency and our quality.
