Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products Featured the Turbomachinery Symposium

From September 12-15, 2011, Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products (EPP) will exhibit Thermoplastic Solutions at the 40th

Turbomachinery Symposium in the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX.

The Symposium will focus on maintenance, performance, troubleshooting, operation and purchase of rotating equipment and related components. Quadrant will feature its wide array of plastic solutions for the industry seal and wear component applications.

Additionally, Quadrant’s TORLON® product, recently re-branded as Duratron, will be featured in a Case Study paper titled; “Thermoplastic Labyrinth Seals in Centrifugal Compressors—15 Years of Experience.” The contributors for the paper were John K. Whalen (TCE, Houston, TX), John R. Dugas (DuPont retiree), Jonathon Cardell (DuPont, Orange, TX), Jim Allen (Nova Chemicals Corp., Red Deer, AB, Canada), and Jim Hebel (Quadrant EPP Reading, PA).

Quadrant’s TORLON® product showcase a successful examples for reliability and efficiency in centrifugal compressors applications that have upgraded from using metallic materials to engineered thermoplastic materials. Due to the success of thermoplastics in this application, this is a growing trend for centrifugal compressor OEM and MRO retrofits.
