Netstal presented for the first time its extended ELION range with two new models of the sizes 2200kN and 2800kN last autumn. With their modular execution, these machines combine for the first time the new electrically driven mold clamping units with the hybrid injection units of the EVOS range. The achieved dry cycles of 1.3 and 1.4 seconds respectively, making the use of these machines in application areas that were possible with hydraulically driven machines previously.
At CHINAPLAS 2011, a model with 2800N clamping force is on display. This ELION 2800-2000 machine uses a 96-cavity mold from Swiss moldmaker Corvaglia and an HDPE of Ineos to mold light closing caps. Production takes place at a cycle of less than 2.5 seconds.
Directly after molding all parts pass through a visual inspection station for quality control purposes. This inspection system is from the German Intravis company. Messrs Piovan are providing the raw material feeding devices and the chiller unit is from ef cooling Ernst H. Furrer Ag domiciled in Switzerland.
