China's General Extrusion Technology sells 7-layer blown film line to S&H

General Extrusion Technology (GET), an extrusion system manufacturer based in Foshan, Guangdong, China,

has completed the installation of a new 7-layer blown film extrusion line at S&H Special New Material (Jiang Yin) Co Ltd, a company specializing in the production of packaging films.

Peng Jian, General Manager of GET, said this order demonstrate GET’s capabilities in multi-layer film extrusion technology by delivering a sophisticated extrusion system to a top barrier film processor.

Mr Peng added that the test run carried out at GET’s factory on November 25-26 was very smooth and successful. Only 175kg of nylon and 75kg of EVOH were enough to produce films of quality accepted by S&H.

“This is definitely a good news for local Chinese barrier film customers,” said Mr Peng. “This sophisticated extrusion line is only one third of the price of those made in Europe or North America while the delivery time can be halved.”

This 7-layer blown film line is equipped with seven 60mm smoothed bore extruders, a 500mm low profile spiral mandrel 7-layer coextrusion die, auto profile air ring with 116 control zones, horizontal oscillating haul-off and two back-to-back central surface winders. It is all designed, manufactured and assembled by GET. The complete line control system including auto profile control and IBC control, gravimetric batch blender and barrier film gauge were supplied by Doteco of Italy and Kundig of Switzerland, respectively.

S&H will use the new line to extrude both nylon and EVOH films with thickness ranging from 80-170um and width up to 1,800mm, for an output up to 400kg/h.
