BASF experts to showcase innovative materials for design at BODW

At the forthcoming Business of Design Week (BODW) to be held in Hong Kong from November 28-December 5,

BASF will present to the audience how chemistry is offering new possibilities for designers and architects through new materials, colors, and energy efficient solutions.

Three international experts from BASF will meet with designers at the Brand New Germany Forum at Inno Design Tech Expo on December 2. Topics to be discussed include coating color trends, eco-efficient building design, and the latest advances in designing with engineering plastics.

Chiharu Matsuhara, Chief Color Designer of the BASF Asia Pacific Color Design Center, will discuss the latest BASF color trend forecast for Asia Pacific for the next two to three years.

Rachib de Matos Zeidam, Senior Regional Manager, Market Development, Engineering Plastics, BASF Asia Pacific, will show how the latest performance polymers can transform designers’ typical understanding of what plastic is, how it can be used, and how technology has revolutionized the process of designing with plastics. Through a series of case studies, audiences will learn more about the versatility and beauty of engineering plastics.

Jan-Uwe Kluessendorf, Climate Protection Officer, BASF China, will show the details behind a new project in China that combines the advantages of the latest materials with smart applications for eco-efficient buildings, to help architects meet the demand to integrate eco-efficient concepts, beauty, and comfort into the same structure.

At the Brand New Germany Forum, attendees will have a chance to seat on a MYTO chair made entirely of an advanced BASF performance polymer by celebrity designer Konstantin Grcic.
