The Austrian plastics engineering company ARTEC machinery GmbH (Advanced Recycling Technology) introduces its full scope of recycling equipment “C-Line”. ARTEC equipment is available in six unit sizes for throughput rates from 150-1,600kg/h. The central components are single-screw extruders, which are combined with harmonized peripherals.
These include cutting/compactor units, the patented CUFEX-System for supplying the film flakes while reducing the moisture content. These basic units are complemented by the extruder, which is combined with degassing and filtering devices for the separation of solid, fiber or gaseous contaminants from the polymer melt. The thus purified polymer melt is then processed in the downstream-process to granules in the pelletizing unit.
The latest developments of ARTEC are systems for the separation of low molecular weight and/or monomer fractions from a polymer melt. Such plants are combing a special polymer screw unit and new high performance degassing units. The polymer melt coming from the polymerization plant passes the reciprocating screw unit and is there exposed to an ultra-vacuum. The low molecular fraction evaporates and is sucked off by the vacuum system. In a following condenser unit the low molecular polymer fraction is recovered and transferred back to the polymerization unit for the re-polymerization.
