AURORA, Ill., August 8, 2012 – Processing Technologies International LLC (PTi), a leading global manufacturer of high-performance sheet extrusion machinery, has announced the appointment of Christopher Curtin as Vice President of International Sales. Curtin, a 26-year plastics industry veteran, brings an extensive range of experience in technology, sales, and marketing to the new post. He will direct PTi’s expanded sales development effort in all global market areas outside of North America.
Curtin’s appointment is an important move in the company’s global growth strategy as PTi looks to tap new global markets for its high-performance sheet extrusion machinery, according to Dana Hanson, PTi President. “Chris’ extensive sales and technical background and his broad knowledge of international markets make him a highly valuable resource as we stake out an expanded position in the global marketplace,” said Hanson.
Prior to joining PTi, Curtin was a co-owner of Extrusion Dies Industries, LLC, starting in 2003. He joined EDI in 1996 and held various positions including international market development manager, director of marketing, vice president of sales and marketing, and executive vice president of sales and marketing. Curtin most recently served for nearly three years as Vice Chairman-Commercial.
Before joining EDI, Curtin worked for 10 years with David-Standard LLC, serving as international product manager for the company’s sheet extrusion system product line.
Curtin holds a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from the University of Connecticut as well as technical training through an AS degree in electrical engineering technology.
