The Equate Kuwaiti petrochemicals joint venture between Petrochemical Industries Company, The Dow Chemical Company, Boubyan Petrochemicals Company and Qurain Petrochemical Industries Company has started up an expansion of polyethylene production. It has added 225,000 tonnes using the Union Carbide Unipol process, to bring its capacity up to 825,000 tonnes of HDPE and LLDPE.
