US scrap plastic exports declined 5% in November
According to latest government data, the exports of scrap plastics by the US witnessed 5% decline over the previous month during November 2015.
SPOKANE : According to latest government data, the exports of scrap plastic by the US declined uring the month of November last year, in comparison with the previous month. The exports edged lower during the month by over 5% when matched with the month before. Also, the volume of exports dropped by 4.4% when matched with Nov ’14 levels.
The country’s exports of plastic scrap during the month of November 2015 totaled 354.40 million pounds. When compared with the exports during the previous month, the volume of exports was down by nearly 5%. The US had exported 372.89 million pounds of plastic scrap during October 2015. The export volumes had declined in Oct ’15 when compared with the month before it. Also, exports registered drop of 4.4% when compared with those during November 2014. The US plastic scrap exports had totaled 370.71 million pounds during November last year.
The weighted price of scrap plastics export during November this year amounted to 17.69 cents per pound. The weighted price saw marginal increase of 1.1% from October 2015 levels. The weighted price of scrap plastic exports during October ‘15 had amounted to 17.51 cents per pound. Upon comparison with November 2014, the weighted price registered considerable decline of 14.9%. The weighted price of scrap plastics export during November last year had amounted to 20.79 cents per pound.
The US exports of recovered plastic during the initial eleven-month period of the year amounted to 4.21 billion pounds. The exports were down marginally by 5.0% when compared with the exports during the corresponding eleven-month period in 2014.
The average price of scrap plastic exports during the period from January through November in 2015 was 18.11 cents per pound, which is 8.7% down year-on-year.
