Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS) is opening its newest electronics recycling facility in Edison, N.J. The company says formal operations of the 93,000-square-foot facility will begin January, 2011.
The location will provide electronics recycling services to residents and business in New York, New Jersey and the Philadelphia Metro Area.
“Sims Recycling Solutions strives to provide our customers with secure and convenient recycling services” says Steve Skurnac, president of SRS, North America. “By bringing our electronics recycling and asset management capabilities to New Jersey, we can offer our customers more options geographically and provide solutions for manufacturers who fall under the recent electronic waste recycling legislation that takes effect in January.”
New Jersey’s recycling legislation, which begins Jan. 1, 2011, requires manufacturers of electronics in the state to begin collection, transportation and maintaining recycling programs for electronic devices.
SRS’s Edison facility is its 12th facility in North America and 42nd electronics recycling facility overall. The company’s other North American locations are in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Nevada, Ontario, South Carolina and Tennessee.
