‘Sold out’ PackPlus 2016 open its doors on 27 July

Over the last few years, the annual PackPlus (or half-yearly if you consider the sister show PackPlus South) has established itself as the go-to exhibition for Indian packaging converters looking to expand, enhance or add new technology.

Coming close on the heels of Drupa 2016, you would expect that the latest edition of the show, PackPlus 2016, would be a forgettable affair. You would be wrong. This year, the event, to be held from 27 to 30 July 2016 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, is 30% bigger than the previous editions of the show. What’s more, the show, which will feature the technology innovations of more than 350 companies, has already sold out.

This means only one thing: manufacturers are seeing a marked rise in customer expectations. This is a good thing too. Or perhaps, PackPlus this year will be a follow up of Drupa 2016. While Drupa had a large Indian contingent, not everyone could travel to Dusseldorf, and PackPlus 2016 will offer these converters an opportunity to witness future technologies at work.

Organised by Print-Packaging.com, PackPlus is billed as the total packaging, processing and supply chain event, and it comes complete with sister events such as SupplyPlus and CartonTech. Covering 14,000 sq/m area at Pragati Maidan, the event will also host a daylong international packaging conclave on 29 July 2016 on ‘Print optimisation and colour management for flexible packaging.’ More than 25 experts from the industry will come together, where more than 200 delegates, including brand owners, package converters, packaging technologists, procurement professionals, print specialists, managers, pre‐press and media professionals, designers, material and equipment suppliers and consultants will attend the event.

So we have some of the leading brands on the ground, including Uflex, Pelican Rotoflex, Ishida India, Global Link Impex, Zhongke, Clearpack India, Autoprint Machinery, HP, and Intralox India, all of which have booked prominent stalls to showcase their range of equipment.

As a leading industry show, PackPlus not only hosts a showcase of products for converters, it also caters to the interests of print buyers, as the show features a good number of converters putting up stalls to display their expertise.

Other leading companies coming to PackPlus 2016 include AKR Machinery, Any Graphics, Domino Printech, Hilda Automation, Janatics India, KB Associates, Kalpvrux Converting Products, Kody Equipments, MGM-VARVEL Power Transmission, Multi Fill Impex, Multilayer Industries, Nichrome India, Packraft Container India, Shrink Packaging Systems, Suddha Converting Machineries, Superpack Packaging Machines, Uflex Holography Division and VS International.

Visitors will also get an opportunity to experience the running machines and have one-on-one interaction with the representatives from international companies like Beijing Weiermake Electronic Technology, BOIX MAQUINARIA, eWon SA, Honey Shield Emballeurs, Jung Won Machinery, Labthink Instruments, Mainpack Industrial, Ningbo Zhongda Leader Intelligent Transmission, Pack-Smart and Sharjah Airport International – Free Zone Authority.
