Sealed Air Cryovac offers frozen fish packaging solution to Italian firm
Allogel SRL, an Italian company specialized in importing and packing high quality fish products, has installed the Darfresh 3-webs for
packaging frozen fish made by Sealed Air Cryovac Inc, a worldwide packaging solutions provider and subsidiary company of Sealed Air Corporation, the company announced on July 28.
The Darfresh 3-webs and the Darfresh R275CD machine eliminate the need for secondary packaging. Its compact character saves on fridge space. There is no fog inside the pack and less packaging to dispose of.
Additional services provided by Sealed Air Cryovac were graphic design, mold design, line software development, as well as support for launch and follow-up activity. Giorgio Alloni, Plant and Production Director at Allogel described, “The Cryovac team is always there when we need them. Whether we want to develop new formats or applications, or have a packaging issue to solve, they really make any challenge easier.”
The newly packaged frozen fish proved an instant success and is now available in major chains such as Coop, Carrefour and Auchan. Giorgio Alloni explained, “We have invested in this new Cryovac Darfresh 3-web system and will continue our cooperation for other projects. We are very convinced of this new packaging and will push it as much as we can.”
The Cryovac Darfresh 3-web vacuum system is a 3-web pack consisting of a bottom formed on line and a top skin, both high barrier plus a lid. Each of the webs is fully printable and all of the materials are chlorine-free.
The machine used by Allogel is the Cryovac Darfresh R275CD, one of the models of the new generation of Multivac Darfresh packaging machines, jointly developed by Cryovac and Multivac. It has a memory for 200 program settings. All machine functions, including temperature control and timers, are managed by microprocessors and operated via a soft touch control panel and LCD display. The equipment meets all relevant European legislation.
