Plastic consumption in India would up by 20% in FY17: Bansal

He said usage of plastic in both sectors stood at around 148 lakh tonne in year 2015-16.

Bansal said that plastic industry would greatly benefit after implantation of Goods and Services Tax as the measure would bring uniformity in prices of various products being manufactured in different states.

He said a mega convention or ‘mahakumbh’ of plastic industries, “Plastvision India 2017″ would be held in Mumbai from January 19-23.

Companies from 45 countries would take part and display their products at the event.
