PET: Prices climb by EUR 70/t in March
PET bottle resin notations rose in March on higher feedstock, the newsletter Plastics Information Europe ( Bad Homburg / Germany; www.pieweb.com) says in a report now online. Contract prices settled out EUR 70/t higher, but short of producers’ EUR 100/t target. While not helping to restore sinking margins it was the best that could be expected in the presence of cheap Asian imports, PIE says. European demand remained weak, and there were no signs of an immediate turnaround. With no clear price trends, players see the outlook for April as very uncertain.
