Perstorp at MECS 2014 – commitment & care
Perstorp, a world leader in specialty chemicals, will be presenting its advanced solutions and building blocks for coatings at Middle East Coatings Show 2014. Perstorp’s strengthening commitment to the region is backed up by increased capacity of core products to MEAF (Middle East Africa), and its desire to pursue new growth opportunities through partnerships with key regional and global customers.
Perstorp’s growing commitment to the MEAF region is aimed at strengthening its position within key regional products, such as intumescent coatings, and through fast reliable supply channels to satisfy its growing customer base.
Meeting the growing coatings demand
The strong regional interest for fire-protected infrastructure and buildings is growing the demand for intumescent coatings. Perstorp already has a strong position in MEAF with the Charmor™ range, which provides the critical halogen-free char component in intumescent coatings. It is anticipated that Charmor™ will directly benefit from the increased interest created by the large-scale infrastructure projects planned for the region, such as World Expo 2020 and the World Cup in 2022.
Demand from the petrochemical industry for infrastructure protection, such as chemical and UV resistant coatings for piping, is also growing significantly. Perstorp’s caprolactone range, Capa™, is well positioned to take advantage of this growth by providing coating systems with high performance properties to match the tough environmental demands. Capa™ Polyols 3050 and 3090 for low VOC polyurethane coatings provide outstanding chemical, UV and abrasion resistance for industrial coatings.
Increased capacity of Neopentyl Glycol
Perstorp is showing its commitment to the region’s powder polyester and UPR producers by increasing its global capacity of Neopentyl Glycol, an essential building block for powder coatings, coil coatings and stoving enamels. Investment in a new plant in Asia combined with the European plant capacity ensures fast and reliable availability for the region.
80% of R&D devoted to sustainable solutions
There is also increased regional interest in finding more sustainable solutions. Perstorp is a world leader in sustainable specialty chemistry devoting over 80% of R&D expenditure to finding more sustainable solutions. Middle East Coatings Show 2014 is a perfect platform for Perstorp to highlight our strong position in the region as well as our unique blend of “commitment with care” to the customers. We will present several innovative high performance products, such as Capa™, Charmor™ and Voxtar™ Penta that contribute significantly towards more sustainable coating solutions and products.
