The Canadian Plastis Industry Association (CPIA) has announced the winners of the 2015 Plastics Industry Leadership Awards
TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The Canadian Plastis Industry Association (CPIA) has announced the winners of the 2015 Plastics Industry Leadership Awards.
The recipient of the “Leader of the Year” award is Jim Ellies. He is the President and COO of Gracious Living Innovations-the largest foam extruder and a leading OEM supplier in Canada. The award is in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the growth and sustainability of Canadian plastics industry.
This year, two individuals and a company has been selected for the Plastics Innovator Award. The two selected innovators are Rob Miller, President, Wittmann Canada and Terry Rochfort, Director Technical Services, Bericap North America. The third winner of the category is Protoplast Inc. located in Cobourg, Ontario. Miller has been awarded for the design of a new weigh loading device for plastic powders. Rochfort is being selected for his innovative design of plastic caps and closures. The Innovator Award also recognizes Protoplast’s innovative duct production technique using injection molding and blow molding.
Cascades, a leader in the recovery and the manufacturing of green packaging and tissue paper products, has been awarded the CPIA Sustainability Award for its line of Ultratill TM products.
The winners of other major awards are as follows:-
CanPlast Award- Steven Wood, President and CEO, Vintex Inc. & Veso Sobot, Director, Corporate Affairs, IPEX Management Inc.
Lifetime Achievement Award- Judith Nancekivell, former publisher of Canadian Plastics Magazine and Vic De Zen, Chairman, Vision Extrusions Group.
The awards were presented during a function held on June 15th at the Sheraton Airport Hotel and Conference Centre in Toronto, Ontario.
