Clariant boosts durability and UV protection of waterborne coatings
- Launch of new additive Hostavin® 3330 disp. XP for waterborne coatings at EuroCoat 2012
- Outstanding offer of a high loaded triazine as waterbased dispersion
- Underlines Clariant’s high priority to deliver sustainable innovations to meet market needs
Muttenz, 2 October 2012 – Clariant offers coatings manufacturers a major step forward in enhancing the durability and UV protection of waterborne coatings with its launch of new high performance UV absorber Hostavin 3330 disp XP. Unveiled at EuroCoat 2012, Clariant presents an innovative formulation allowing waterborne coatings to reach the performance of conventional solventborne systems.
Hostavin 3330 disp. XP has an active UV absorber content of 52% which brings a significant improvement in the area of UV light protection for waterborne systems. It offers high thermal stability and superior durability for effective prolonged service life, displaying high extinction in the protection of thin layers. As a result it is ideal for use in clear and pigmented coatings for exterior wood protection, as well as for industrial and automotive coatings.
New Hostavin 3330 disp. XP is the first high loaded water-based dispersion of a triazine class UV absorber. Its high stabilization efficiency and formulation features allow improved performance at optimized costs for the most demanding waterborne coatings. Its excellent compatibility and improved VOC related profile makes it easy to incorporate and safe to handle.
“New Hostavin 3330 disp. XP fills the performance gap the market is experiencing in its shift to waterborne coatings. This advanced development represents Clariant’s on-going commitment to support our customers’ innovation and sustainability efforts,” comments Jean-Yves Desrats, Technical Marketing Manager BU Additives, Clariant.
